Wow, it has been ages since I thought about the walks I used to do from my old place. One of the walks I used to like to do was the one from Mortdale across Oatley Bridge, through Como, Jannali, Sutherland and along the Woronora River to the Boat Shed. It was here that I would hire a kayak and row leisurely (or not so leisurely when I needed exercise) down the river.

Woronora River
A fair bit along the river is a little “beach” – really just a strip of sand that the kayak can be stopped at and it is possible to sit down and eat. The view along the river isn’t pristine as there are heaps of homes, but it is relatively peaceful. If nothing else, the fact of being on the water doing something manual but pleasurable, brought much peace!
I even considered buying a kayak while I lived there – God knows how I would have carried it from Mortdale to Sutherland! 🙂
