Morton NP - Bundanoon
This is a particularly beautiful side of Morton National Park. Personally I think this is a better park than the Blue Mountains – less traffic, pollution, commercialism, no paid parking etc. The walks from the Bundanoon side are pretty short and straightforward with the exception perhaps of the Tooths Lookout to Bundanoon Creek walk. I like this National Park because there are lots of nooks and crannies to simply sit and enjoy an uninterrupted view without the noise and crowds – a good place to clear the head and lungs, and one that isn’t too far from Sydney. The Bundanoon YHA is also a great place to stay either individuallly, in small numbers or to hire the venue.

And the nightlife? How could you go past the nightlife in Bundanoon in the literal sense… the Glow Worm Glen – a half hour stumble with a torch along a wombat-hole dug path, then through the National Park gates to a well established “viewing” platform. Remember, it is likely that there will be mud, you will forget to bring enough warm clothing, the batteries on your torch will die (or you’ll forget to take it altogether) and it will rain… hmm… maybe that’s just me! A very romantic location as the little glow worms innocently go about their business of happily lighting up the quiet bush… the glen is also well worth a visit during the day when the creek is running.
